Congratulations to the 2026 AYJO musicians listed below.

Thanks to everybody that applied…our biggest, most nationwide and intensely competitive audition cohort to date! The standard was incredibly high and it was extremely difficult to judge this year.

If you haven’t been successful this year, please don’t be discouraged. Remember that many of the AYJO alumni and current musicians weren’t accepted in their first attempt.

We encourage you to keep submitting as the band evolves. During this time you will grow & mature as a musician, senior musicians will turn 25, and the required repertoire may change to suit your strengths too.

The Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra is an extraordinary thing to be a part of but without our countries leading young musicians, that is YOU, wanting to participate, we don't have a band...so keep working on your craft and throwing your hat in the ring in the hope that you will be successful in the future.
